Darco Black TwinShoe Balance Shoe
Cast shoes worn after surgery can create a height imbalance, so any possible measures to correct this should be taken to provide a more comfortable walking pattern. The Darco Black TwinShoe Balance Shoe lessens height discrepancy, making walking much easier and safer.
Designed with twin straps and a bulky sole, the Darco Balance Shoe resembles a standard open-toe black sandal that can be worn wherever and whenever required.

Which Size Darco Balance Shoe Is Right for Me?
To quickly find the correct size shoe for your foot, match your UK shoe size to the sizing table below. If you are after a more accurate fit, our product experts recommend measuring the length and width of the sole of your current shoe at the longest and widest point, using the image below as a guide.
| Size | UK Shoe Size | Dimensions (LxW) |
|---|---|---|
| Extra Small | Up to UK Size 4 | 215 x 85mm |
| Small | UK Size 4.5 – 6 | 235 x 95mm |
| Medium | UK Size 6.5 – 8 | 255 x 100mm |
| Large | UK Size 8.5 – 10 | 275 x 105mm |
| Extra Large | UK Size 10.5 – 12.5 | 295 x 115mm |
Why Is Measuring an Insole So Important?
Measuring an existing insole ensures you get a Darco Balance Shoe that closely matches the length and width of your foot.
My Measurements Aren’t An Exact Match
The measurements in our sizing chart detail the maximum length and width of the insole plate on all five Darco Shoe sizes. Once you’ve finished measuring, you should select the closest Darco Shoe with dimensions larger than those of your insole.
For example, if your sole measured 252mm x 96mm, the correct size for you would be medium.
What If My Measurements Don’t Line Up?
If the length and width of your insole conflict and indicate two different sizes are suitable, we recommend selecting the size that accommodates the length of your shoe. This is because the large strap on the Darco shoe can be adjusted to accommodate slightly more width.
How Can a Darco TwinShoe Help Me?
The Recovery Balance Shoe is designed to be worn alongside many Darco healing shoes. Whilst healing or wound shoes providing stable rehabilitation following an operation or injury, they can unfortunately create a leg height discrepancy which can, in turn, create further discomfort and spinal damage.
Which Conditions Can a Darco Boot Help Alleviate?

- Aching arches
- Back pain
- Foot pain
- Hip malalignment
- Leg length discrepancy
- Poor posture
- Shin splints
- Spinal issues

Can the Single Balance Shoe Be Worn While Driving?
No, the TwinShoe Balance Shoe is not recommended to be worn while driving. The rigid bottom of the shoe may negatively affect your ability to control your vehicle’s pedals.
